Part 2

It had become rather late now. The four stood around the corner of S.G.A.C.
“Okay”, said Camilla, “have we got everything with us?”
“I think so”, said Shirley.
“You sure we did forget anything?”
“How about my manhood?” Caz said sourly.
“Oh, come on, you don’t look that bad!” said Ginger.
“Easy for you to say! If anyone sees me like this, I’ll hear about it for the rest of my life. ‘Sides, it’s a bit smallish around the tail!”
“But you said you were a size 38” said Camilla.
“GUYS 38, not girls!”
“Hush now, and just do as we agreed.” The four entered. Caz had, of course, never been to S.G.A.C, so he didn’t know how it looked inside. But he’d imagined something more… girlish. This looked just like a regular activity center, at least the lobby did.
A Milotic greeted them as they stepped inside.
“Oh, Camilla, how wonderful to see you again!”
“The same to you, Miss Milania, the same to you. I was just going to do a bit of workout and thought I’d bring a few friends along.”
“Indeed you have. It’s so charming to see you all again, Shirley and Ginger… oh dear, who is this enchanting new young lady you brought with you? I don’t think I’ve ever seen her here before.”
“That? Oh, that’s just Caz… andra. Yeah, Cazandra.”
Cazandra?! Thought Caz.
“Cazandra!? I don’t think I know anyone at High Arts Academy who goes by that name. Let me just go check the database for a sec…”
“N-n-no need for that, she’s just transferred here! She just moved to this town recently, and I doubt they’ve even registered her in the database.”
“Really? Well, you’re probably right, and I trust you. Anyway, she’s lucky to have at least gotten her uniform. Otherwise we wouldn’t have let her in like this. Besides, it’s also a really good way of meeting some nice boys, don’t you think so Cazandra?”
“Wha-? Uh, I mean, yes of course” Caz said with his most girlish voice, trying to hold back the things he REALLY wanted to say.
“But I do say, you should do something about your claws. Sure, I admit there’s a lot of roughness involved in the classes at High Arts Academy, but really, that’s no excuse for a pretty young promising thing to let her looks go like that.”
“Yes, yes”, Camilla laughed rather strained, “she’s always like that, she’s just impossible when it comes to ones looks, you know what I mean? We always say ‘Dear Cazzie, you need to do something about yourself our you’ll end up looking like a rag from some garbage bin’. But does she listen? Nooo! I tell you, sometimes Cazandra doesn’t know how a lady should be…”
“I know that all too well, my sweet. Maybe I could give her some lessons someday about behave like a proper lady.”
“That’d be just lovely, Miss Milania, hehe. Lord knows she could use them…”
“Maybe we should be going”, said Ginger as she witnessed the murderous look in Caz’s eyes. “We haven’t got all night, you know.”
“Oh, of course”, said Miss Milania, “How silly of me! I just keep talking, don’t I? Now, you be real nice to young Cazandra here, and show her around the facilities. I do want her to feel welcome.”
“Will do, Miss Milania, will do” said Camilla as they hurried away to the locker-rooms.
Camilla looked around her as she entered the door to make sure no one saw her, hung her gymnastics-bag on one of the hooks in the empty locker-room, and hurried out. She hadn’t really planned on using it, but it had been a real good diversion. After all, she wouldn’t want anyone to think they’d come there just to snoop around.
“You’re the one to talk about being ladylike, Miss Tomboy” whispered Caz sarcastically.
“Don’t start with me” Camilla whispered back. “Now that we’re in, you all know what to do: we split up in groups of two, and each group takes a walkie-talkie and gives the other a holler if they find anything. Okay Ginger, make with the walkie-talkies.”
“I wasn’t in charge of them, I thought Caz was.”
“What? Nuh-uh, I distinctively heard Camilla saying your name and…”
“Whatever then”, said Camilla, “forget about them. Just stay close together. So, me and Caz go this way…”
“Hold it just a bit right there”, said Ginger, “Who says you’re going with Caz?”
“I am! You go with Shirley!”
“Nonsense, I couldn’t let poor Cazzie-Wazzie face all the danger without me at his side. You go with Shirley, I’ll go with Caz.”
“No, you go with Shirley!” said Camilla.
“No you!”
“NO U!!!”
“Doesn’t anybody want to go with me?” Shirley said meekly.
“I do” said Caz as he pushed his way through the two jealous verbal combatants. For a moment, Shirley almost beamed with delight of someone actually choosing her out of free will, but quickly hid it.
And so, they split up. Caz and Shirley took the left, while Ginger and Camilla reluctantly took the right, and they began searching.
After a while, Caz stopped.
“Why do you have to stop all the time”, Shirley asked carefully as to not insult him or anything.
“This damn skirt”, he whispered, “it won’t stay still and I have to adjust it all the freaking time. Seriously, how can you girls walk around with these all the time?!”
“I guess you just get used to it. Also it’s a plus if you get something your own size.”
“I hear that.”
Suddenly, they both heard a voice. “Ooooooh, girls, how lovely to see you again!” It was the kind of purely energetic voice you never forgot. They turned around to face Miss Milania. “I say, are you showing your new friend around, Shirley?”
“Uh, yes, Miss Milania.”
“Splendid, splendid. Where did the others go, if I may ask?”
“I think Camilla said something about doing exercising some new moves for class for Monday. I think Ginger stayed with her.”
“Oh dear, such roughhousing. You could hardly believe she was a lady sometimes, unlike you and your friend Cazandra here. You two seem to get the clue on how to behave properly.”
“Yes, Miss Milania.”
“Although I do say, Shirley, I think you should lay off the sweets, it’s starting to show on your figure, my dear. Oh, and Cazandra…” she added, almost concerned.
“Uhm, yes, Miss?” Caz said, careful not to sound too worried. She hadn’t figured it out already, had she?!
“Not to sound insulting or anything, but if you’d like, I’d suggest stuffing your bra with some tissue if I were you. Not meaning to sound harsh, everyone’s bodies develops at their own rate, but boys nowadays like a bit of ‘bumps’ up there. Just a friendly reminder, nothing else” she added with a wink.
“Yes, Miss Milania. Will keep that in mind.”
“Good. Now, if you excuse, I have some paperwork to do.”
“See you later, Miss” said Shirley as she and Caz hurried their way while Milania went further down the hall. Under her breath, barely audible, she said “Seriously, the poor thing’s as flat as a wooden plank…”
A bit of walking later they stopped and looked around to see if the coast was clear. “Jeez, are all you chicks that vain?!” Caz whispered.
“You just be glad Camilla and Ginger didn’t get that idea before her, ‘else you’d be walking around in girls’ undies too.”
“No way, José. No way they’d ever make wear that!”
Well, they did trick you into the uniform…, Shirley thought for herself. “Let’s see… if I were a criminal, were would I hide stolen valuables?”
“I would hide it were no one would think of looking.”
“Well, yeah, of course, that’s the most logical choice. Everyone knows that.”
“Then the most logical would be to hide it were everyone would think of looking.”
“Eh?”
“Yeah, you know, like reversed psychology. You see, say you hide it in the most obvious of places. People wouldn’t look there because they’d think that no one would hide it there due to it being such an obvious spot. Or vice versa, you’d think people would think that you’d hide it there, and therefore hide it in a place they wouldn’t look since they’d expect you to think they shouldn’t look there since you know they’d look there…”
Shirley grasped her head. “Gaah, please stop it! You’re talking to someone who got a D- in Philosophy!”
“Whatever, do you see my point?”
“… that since we don’t know how the thief thinks… we should look both in the most logical and illogical places?”
“Exactly!”
“Well, that really narrows down our search…” she said wearily. “Where do we start?”
“How about right here” Caz said and pushed open a door, and moments later wished he hadn’t.
They were back at the locker-rooms were Camilla had hung her bag.
This time, it wasn’t empty.
“Oh, hi” said one of the girls who had just gotten out of the showers. “You looking for someone or what? Sandra, pass me my towel, would’ya? Thanks.”
“Sorry, wrong door” said Shirley and budged Caz out of the way so she could close the door.
“Well… it seems we have gone in a circle” said Caz.
“May I suggest that I choose the next door” Shirley asked.
“ Please do.”
“Also, would you mind not telling this to anyone? Preferably not Camilla?”
“Sure.”
And thus, they continued their search…
Now, you’re probably wondering what became of Ginger and Camilla. Well, have no fear, for the story will continue in part 3. That’s also when the DRAMA will start. Stay tuned…
